Writing the Hard Things with God
Part 4, Healing On The March (Grow as You Go)
Do you carry deep abiding wounds that prevent you from moving forward in life? Dear one, you are in good company. I have been there a time or two myself, and there are no pat answers to ease the pain we experience when we are in it.
My story, like many others, is one for the books. It speaks of a life with more ups and downs than an escalator. When I surrendered my life to Christ, I did not come to Him for a theology lesson, I came face down crying out for the mercy I knew only He could give. Will you begin your journey with me in the one place where mercy and healing can be found? The foot of the cross.
By God’s grace, I got up one day, put one foot in front of the other, and began to follow Christ. It did not matter that my life was a mess, only that I was following the One who would never leave me or forsake me. I learned to lean on Christ for everything, and over time I realized I was healing on the march. Though I had more setbacks than I want to admit, joy and laughter found its way into the fabric of my everyday life. One step at a time, braving faith and failure, my victories over the flesh solidified my confidence and relationship with Jesus.
Deep Dive: Are you broken with nowhere to turn? Run to Jesus. If you cannot run, do the walk. If you cannot walk, do the crawl. Jesus will receive you just as you are. Read John 4:1-42 for the full story of a woman who once broken, became whole when she turned to follow Christ.
