waters of the Red Sea
"Why do you stand here waiting,"
said the Almighty "go!"
So I did.
I crossed in a narrow place
With walls of water to my right
and left - danger held fast by
the hand that made it.
Hello friend, I am so glad you are here. Thank you for taking time to check out my website. We are dolling things up around here, so keep coming in to see more of the things you like.
If you are new around here, you might be thinking, what is Red Sea Crossings anyway? I get that a lot. It is easy really. Red Sea Crossings are the times in your life when you go through epic battles. The enemy is breathing down your neck, and the only right thing to do is trust God and walk through the waves of adversity into the victory God has for you on the other side. No, we don’t always win the battle but when we keep going, we win the war.
What battles have you won, or lost? What did you learn? When battles are won, all glory goes to God. But we were there too. Hurting. Have you suffered through one of those “you can’t make this stuff up,” stories that just about took you out? I have. Divorce, the death of loved ones, the loss of my home through fire, and a robbery that left us wondering if we would ever recover. *Spoiler alert* I trusted God and continue to receive my healing on the march.
In August of 2020, I was prompted to join a six-week writers bootcamp that promised to get me in shape to write a book. I planned to start with a devotional because I had loads of material from my years in women’s ministry. My plans were derailed when the bootcamp sergeant asked one question, “If you could write only one book, what would it be?” I knew. It was Red Sea Crossings, a titled document I saved on my computer home screen two years before. Dear reader, Red Sea Crossings picked me.
When I stepped into the first draft of my memoir, I realized my writing was taking me to places I was not sure I wanted to go. It was hard, but I persevered to discover that with every crossing came the wisdom and grace I needed to write it. The results were astounding. The woman I am today is still ministering to the girl I once was. Healing and forgiveness came when I opened my story to the Lord - He writes the parts we did not know were there.
Writing your Red Sea Crossing will help you discover new perspectives and bring healing to areas of pain. What if it hurts? It often does, but old wounds heal when they are tended with the balm of Godly perspective. Are you writing? A masterpiece takes time, so why not join us on your journey? Welcome to Red Sea Crossings.
