The Spirit Filled Life

Spirit Walk
Part 4 Galatians 5:16-21

“Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16)

Sin has plagued mankind since the Serpent made his debut in the Garden of Eden. From that point on, Adam and Eve were in Satan’s crosshairs, and it remains his strategy to this day. Be of good cheer friends. Jesus has overcome the world. “The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

When God flooded the earth and the waters began to recede, Noah sent a raven to find dry land. The earth was unprepared to maintain new life, but the raven did not return. It was willing to settle, and feed on whatever was out there. Unclean was okay by him.

Later Noah released a dove. A clean animal, the dove returned to Noah rather than feed on the muck and mire outside the ark. When Noah released the dove again, she discovered a clean place to settle, and made her nest in the new world.

The dove was discerning the raven was not. Like the raven, our flesh does not discriminate. It will feed on anything. Hell is enlarged every day as lost sinners are overcome by these things. People are walking willingly, some ignorantly, headlong into its gates without giving it a moment’s thought. Despite man’s propensity for sin, there is good news for even the violist offender. There is one who is greater than all these things. Jesus Christ.

• No matter what the sin
• No matter how bad
• No matter the quantity

The blood of Jesus covers them all. For those who ask with a repentant heart.
