The Spirit Filled Life

Breathe In, Breathe Out, Part 1
Galatians 2:20 – 3:1-7

True life begins the moment the Spirit of the Living God is invited into the heart of a man or woman seeking Christ’s love and forgiveness for sin. In that moment he or she is filled with the Spirit of the living God whose power begins to flow into the life of the new believer.

Life in the Spirit is lived with an eternal view in mind where old sins are passed away by the grace of God, and all things become new in the life of the believer. The Spirit-filled life cannot be lived by the power of human will but comes through the supernatural power of Jesus Christ. It is Jesus who transforms us from the inside out. From there, God’s power flows through us to be a light in the world.

J. Vernon McGee writes of the Spirit-filled life, “The Christian life is a banquet because He (Jesus) has invited us to the table of salvation—but it is not a picnic.”

Life in the Spirit is not without conflict like a padded room promising a journey free of bumps and bruises. Being human promises both trouble and triumph, but the Savior assures us He will be with us through it all. The Spirit of Christ will walk with you through the ups and downs of everyday life as you read His word and seek him in prayer.
